Vinnie Tortorich, host of the Fitness Confidential Podcast, grew up in bayou country in Louisiana. Like most kids of his generation, he spent as much time outside, hunting, fishing, and just running around as he could. When he realized that he enjoyed the fitness aspect of an active lifestyle, he got serious about lifting weights and playing football.
That led him to Tulane University, where he played football and helped pay the bill by offering his services as a personal trainer. After graduating, he continued to grow his expertise in training, and that led to him having a very successful radio call-in show.
The sky was the limit for this small town kid. But he wanted to do more to help. Vinnie understood the need to help kids, because childhood obesity was reaching staggering proportions. So he left all of his success to go to California, to try to convince television influencers that he could help get kids healthy. Well, when the TV folks are paying the bills with money earned from companies who make sugar for kids, they aren’t interested in hearing that low-carb, no sugar is the way to get and keep kids healthy.
So Vinnie was out of luck. And he was out of money. So he did what he knew. He started training people. And then he started training celebrities.
And he has never stopped.
Now he’s got one of the most popular health and fitness podcasts in the world. And he’ll be starting a new call-in show for ABC radio in September of 2016, which is something he’s very excited about.
Danny and I had a blast talking to him about fitness, life, business, supplements, and, of course, keto. So sit back and enjoy, because he’s a lot fun to listen to.
